Love watching Rugby, maybe you played when you were younger? Whatever your connection to Rugby, if you want to get stuck into a game without the risk of injuries from tackles – then Touch Rugby is for you!
Touch Rugby League is a fast, skilful and action packed team sport, played in a fun and social atmosphere. Due to limitations in the rules, you won’t see any of the tackling you get in a traditional game of Rugby League. But thanks to that restriction on tackling it means we can make the sessions open to both men and women without the worry of people getting injured, Because Touch Rugby isn’t just for big burly men, Touch Rugby is for everyone!
With the newly introduced #HiitThePitch campaign it is also even easier to see & feel the benefits a 20 minute game of Touch Rugby can do!
So what is #HiitThePitch? Hiit is an abbreviation of High-intensity interval training and describes any workout that alternates between intense bursts of activity and fixed periods of less-intense activity or even complete rest.
Combining both Touch Rugby and HIIT means that you get to experience a super-efficient HIIT workout which not only burns 600 calories in just 20 minutes, but the effect of all that intense exertion kicks your body’s repair cycle into hyper drive. That means you can burn more fat and calories in the 24 hours after a HIIT workout than you do after, say, a steady-pace run.
In addition to increased fat burning and more muscle preserved, HIIT also stimulates production of your human growth hormone (HGH) by up to 450 percent during the 24 hours after you finish your Play Touch session. Which is great news, since HGH is not only responsible for increased calorie burn but also slows down the aging process, making you younger both inside and out!
So whether you’re looking to play the sport you love, become fitter and more active, burn calories, build muscle tone or just want to have fun with your friends without having to be a member of a gym, this is the sport for you!
If you’re Aged 14+ then for just £2 a week you can come on down to Bude Park, Hull and enjoy a competitive and fun Touch Rugby game every Tuesday night from 7pm – 8:30pm.
