First Step running free intergenerational family activity events this summer

August 8, 2014

This summer, we’ve joined up with Hull City Council to provide a series of fun, free intergenerational activity days held in parks across Hull, and we want as many children, parents and grandparents from across the city to get involved!

Events are being held at West Park, Pearson Park, King George, Bricknell Playing Fields, Bude Park, Bellfield Avenue and the Rosemead Playing Fields. A full calendar of the intergenerational events, including times and days can be found at www.Activehull.co.uk/group/5 or by calling us on 01482 974261.

Designed to provide opportunities for family members of all ages to spend quality time with each other enjoying outdoor sports and activities during the school break, the two-hour sessions are being held weekly throughout the summer holidays.

Each session includes a wide range of fun physical activities conducted by the experienced First Step Sports coaching team, and all activities have been tailored to ensure that they are suitable for participants of all ages, abilities and fitness levels.

James Moore, Owner and Managing Director of First Step Sports Group, said:

“We want to encourage as many local people as possible to get outside and get active in the city with their families this summer. Our intergenerational events are fun, engaging and inclusive, and designed to appeal to people of all ages – it doesn’t matter if you are 4 or 84, you’re more than welcome to attend.

“Attendance at all our events is completely free, and they are a great opportunity to spend time with the whole family, improve fitness and promote healthy lifestyle choices to younger family members.”

The sessions we’ve held already have proved really popular, and the feedback we’ve got from participating families has been fantastic. For further information about the Intergenerational Family Events, call 01482 974261.
